Derek's youngest sister Whitney was married earlier this month. We were thrilled for her, and that she and Stan were getting hitched. They met while helping to build a home for a family in need in Tijuana Mexico a few summers ago, and after last years trip, began dating. Stan is a wonderful man and a perfect match for our sweet Whitney. We are so happy for them and thrilled to have a handy man in the family (Stan is a contractor & very, very skilled in his craft!). They were married on a beautiful day in the Twin Falls Idaho Temple. The sun was shining and the breeze was subtle. After the sealing and ceremony, the reception was that night. The venue was a perfect mix of rustic and chic, exactly what Whitney was looking for. The rich hues of deep burgundy, gold, and navy were the perfect accent colors to the thick cut logs, and the beautiful cake. It was a wonderful day celebrating two wonderful people! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Hatt!

GRANT'S FIRST VALENTINES DAY
As always, we celebrated Valentine's Day at home, this year as the three of us! We were lucky to have Derek come home for lunch, just in time for Grant's sweet friend to drop off a fun Valentine's Bag full of goodies! We stayed in and opted for pan fried chicken, oven potatoes, a green salad and soft French bread. We finished the night with our favorite Sees Candy pieces and reading books to Grant (as always!) It was a great first holiday full of love, and lots and lots of kisses!

GRANT'S BLESSING DAY
On Sunday, February 12, 2017, we blessed Grant in church. It was a beautiful sunny day. I couldn't has asked for better weather after weeks of torrential downpours and chilly days. On his blessing day, the sun was shining and a cool breeze was blowing. We all gathered at the church and Derek gave Grant the most lovely blessing. Grant was wearing the same blessing outfit Derek wore 31 years ago. He was blessed to be a good and strong boy, with a healthy heart and mind. After church, we came back to the house for a yummy lunch of BBQ pulled pork, kale salad, fresh fruit, potato salad, and a double chocolate chip bundt cake. The best part of the weekend was having so many family members in town (although we missed the many who were unable to attend!) and enjoy company. It was a lovely weekend and the perfect way to celebrate our sweet little Grant.

VALENTINES FAVORITE THINGS PARTY
I don't think it's a secret that I love a good party. Even with the exception of having a newborn, I wanted to celebrate Valentine's with my sweet friends. I hosted a brunch on a Saturday morning, and we celebrated our favorite things. The premise of the party is to bring your favorite thing (we had a wide array of items from chocolate granola to bath bombs), and then you leave with other favorite things from your friends. We munched on yummy donuts, heart shaped strawberries, and mini quiche, while talking and enjoying the company. Baby Boy was passed around and snuggled all morning, which is HIS favorite thing. It was such a fun and yummy way to spend the morning with friends, and a great start to a beautiful sunny day, which we were are desperately happy for after weeks of rain!
