My sweet friends Lin & Janelle from Sacramento were kind enough to throw me a darling nautical themed baby shower a few weekends ago. It was a perfect morning of yummy pumpkin bread & visiting, which are two of my favorite things. To top it off, the sweet women in that area were kind enough to shower me with darling baby outfits, shoes, books, and the MamaRoo both Derek and I were thrilled to recieve. We had such a grand time, we didn't manage to get any group photos, but the women and sweet young girls in that area will always hold a special place in my heart! While Derek was so busy during residency, they were there for fun girls nights, walks around the neighborhood and river, afternoons of crafting and much more. My favorite part of the shower was the darling whale print Janelle made for Grant's room. The sweetest part were all the thumb print drops of the YW I was able to serve while in the area. It's already in his room and looks so darling!

MATERNITY PHOTOS WITH BEAUTIFULLY BLISS PHOTOGRAPHY
My dear friend Mandy of Beautifully Bliss Photography was gracious enough to spend an evening shooting in this gorgeous eucalyptus grove in La Jolla while I was in San Diego. As someone who has wished and hoped for a baby for so long, I knew I wanted to capture this sweet (and short!) moment of time in my life with some photos. Mandy made me feel both beautiful and bliss during this shoot, and these are photos I will cherish forever!

SAN DIEGO BABY SHOWER
After living in San Diego for two years, Derek and I were blessed to not only live close to my parents, but to meet some amazing life long friends. After telling our families about the arrival of our sweet baby, I think the next few people I told were Mandy and Stephanie, the two sweet girls who put this adorable nautical inspired baby shower together. With the help of my Mom, they were able to plan and execute this darling shower while I was visiting San Diego in October. The delicious food and treats were compliment to the fantastic company and beautiful weather. We enjoyed lunch and company while sitting on my parents back patio, with a light breeze and sunny morning. It was such a wonderful day surrounded by so many whom I truly love, ranging from childhood friends, women who have known me from ten to twenty years, and the friends we made while in residency. It was more then I could've asked for, and am so grateful for all these sweet people in my life!

IDAHO BABY SHOWER
Early in October, my sweet in-laws offered to throw me a family baby shower in honor of Baby Boy Smith! It was absolutely darling, and had the cutest details ranging from nautical inspired rice krispe treats to a cute homemade cake! I was very spoiled and received so many cute outfits, shoes, and handmade blankets and burp rags. Another wonderful part of the weekend was that both my sister & brother were able to travel up from Logan, Utah and Rexburg, Idaho for the day! That night, my mother-in-law, Trina treated us all to a fun night at a local pumpkin farm and dinner. It was so fun to be back together with Rachel and Dallin, since we hadn't been since Dallin's return from his mission! It was a wonderful weekend, and I'm so grateful to all the people in my life who love me, and are even more excited to welcome our sweet little one into the world!

MY 10,000TH DAY OF LIFE
Earlier this week, my dear friend Kendra texted me with "Get ready for your 10,000th day birthday on Saturday!" It was almost a stroke of inspiration that she stumbled upon this piece of fun! Months ago, she and her husband were discussing how many days old they were. She of course turned to Google, and discovered that her 10,000th day was the following day! Fast forward a couple months, and she did the search again, only to find that our other mutual friend from childhood, Crystal, was about to celebrate her day! Either Kendra has psychic tenancies, or major vibes for us, but it was a wonderful text to receive! So, I'm baking a chocolate cake, and whipping up some frosting, because by golly, I've been alive 10,000 days, and I want to celebrate!

MICKEY'S HALLOWEEN PARTY
Before moving up north, my friend Amy mentioned the idea of attending Mickey's Halloween Party at Disneyland, and I was all for it! The tickets were purchased during the summer, and then we had to nail down our costumes for the night! We settled on the original Mousketeers, including ruffle bobbi-socks and pleated skirts. We had a super fun night going from ride to ride (waiting in no lines!) and of course enjoying the wonderful atmosphere of all things Disney! The weekend was made even better with a ladies night out at the mall, and breakfast with my favorite girls and their Mom, Mandy. It's always so comforting to come back and find that people make time for you when you come around for a visit! Now, when can I go back? Meeska, Mouska, Mickey Mouse!
