I honestly have nothing but {mostly} good things to say about living here in the state that looks like a mitten. Yes, I too describe locations in Michigan by holding up my hand and pointing. It's a thing here, guys, don't worry. Our first few months here in the summer were spent enjoying much cooler temperatures then we were used to and exploring all things outdoors. We went to the Zoo, Greenfield Village & a local orchard for only the freshest of fruits and veggies. I also made sure to make it to the lake at least once a week and dip my toes in the ice cold water. This winter has been a long one. It has finally started to warm up, and the grass is getting greener & greener with each new day. Morning rain is even help bring the trees to life, and all the geese are flying back up North. Before we know it, we will pack up and head West to where our hearts feel at home. I have a feeling all of our memories of this place will be well kept in our minds, and especially all of our friends. The saying is true, Mid-Westerners are seriously some of the friendliest people around.
How exciting to be moving on to yet another "phase" in the med school journey! Lovin your read pants by the way, and whole outfit actually. I'm sure the feelings are bitter sweet...This whole med school thing brings us ALL places we would NEVER expect. Oklahoma for us :)
ReplyDeleteY'all should definitely go to the lunch banquet and you will totally work it! Cute sundress and some wedges or something. :) Good luck with all of the changes and moving.....
And by "read" pants, I meant RED. LOL!!
DeleteThanks friend! I know- it has been such a fun adventure being here...but I am excited to go back to CA :) It was such a shock/surprise to see that was our match, but what a blessing! I am jealous of you being in Oklahoma for a major reason-- HOUSE PRICES!!!
Deletei'm glad your sad that your leaving. that means you liked the midwest! now- will the same feelings be true about AZ?!
ReplyDeleteAZ will always hold a special place in my heart. It's where we got engaged, came "home" to after our Honeymoon & lived our first year of marriage. There are things I like about AZ & things I hate, just like everywhere else. I told Derek I would live in AZ again in East Valley in a heartbeat.....houses for less thank 100k?!? YES PLEASE!
DeleteI know you haaate it, but it's not bad in my book. :)
