MACKENZIE & NATHAN'S WEDDING

Grant and I were lucky enough to travel down south for the wedding of my first Jones cousin, Mackenzie. I remember my sister Rachel and I would dress up her, Dallin (our brother) and Madalyn (Mackenzie's sister) and play wedding ALL the time growing up, and now it really was a REAL wedding. It was a beautiful day and everything looked amazing! The flowers, the cake, the centerpieces, and Mackenzie and Nathan themselves. They were married in the Newport Beach Temple and had a lovely evening reception at a clubhouse in Coto de Caza (where they had their first kiss!). Grant was passed around by family, friends, and became best friends with a few of the bridesmaids. We had a great time and as always, we weren't there long enough. Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Rock!

MCKENZIE FAMILY REUNION | OAKLEY, IDAHO

We spent a long weekend in Oakley, Idaho (Derek's hometown) celebrating with the McKenzie Family for a family reunion and the Oakley 24th of July celebrations this year. We spent a lot of time around the fire, roasting s'mores and chatting, while kiddos played and laughed on the swing set and we all took turns playing Papa Lynn's game, Nine Square. We also spent a day at Nat-Soo-Pah, a natural hot spring not far from town. Grant enjoyed going down his first water slide, swimming in the warm pool, and playing with his cousins! Early Saturday, a lot of us ran/walked the Goose Creek 5K, which is hopefully a new family tradition, and then enjoyed my favorite breakfast in the park! Our nephew Clark ran the Kids Fun Run, and did an amazing job! He was by far the youngest runner, but finished strong and hard. I can't wait for him and Grant to run it together in a few years. We finished the day with the parade, driving up to the Basin where the family ranch is located, family pictures, and the rodeo. It was a fun, but exhausting, trip, and we can't wait for our next visit! 

FRESNO ZOO & OAKLAND ZOO VISITS

Last week, Grant and I enjoyed two fun days at different Zoo's in our area. We first made the drive down to Fresno, so I could see my sweet cousin Brittany and her darling girls, who were visiting from North Carolina. Brittany and I were college roommates, and it had been too many years since we had seen each other; I hadn't even met her two cute girls! We spent the morning at the Fresno Zoo, and had the best time looking at the animals and feeding the giraffes! After, we had a BBQ at my Aunt Cheryl's house with a lot of my Tatum family that lives in Fresno (my grandmother, aunts, and cousins). This past Saturday, Derek and I ventured to the Oakland Zoo for the morning! It's a short hour drive from our house, and was a fun and relaxing way to spend the morning. They recently had baby baboons born, and they were hilarious to watch climb, jump, and play tag. Grant loved being outside, and rolling around in his stroller both days. It was a great week, with beautiful weather on both of our Zoo days!
